DAY 6
THE BLARNEY STONE AND CORK
OVERNIGHT IN WATERFORD
Designed in the Tudor style, around a village green,
Blarney sits on the edge of the Shournagh River, surrounded by wooded countryside
and quiet country lanes.
Blarney was planned as a water-powered linen-and-wool-processing center, the latter
of which still flourishes today at the Blarney Woolen Mills.
Visit
Blarney Castle
to kiss the Blarney stone, which is said to bestow the gift of
eloquence. The castle is situated in a wooded park
a short stroll from the bus park.
Some travelers prefer to spend their time at Blarney Woolen Mills, a
mega-store with everything Irish.
