THE LOUVRE
OVERNIGHT IN PARIS
The Musée du Louvre is probably the world's most famous museum and houses some of the world's best-known artistic masterpieces, including
Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa. You will have advance purchase tickets so that you avoid having to wait in the long lines at the main entrance.
You can easily spend all day in the Louvre complex, there is so much to see.
Don't get so enthralled by the paintings and the collections of Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities that
you overlook the Louvre’s collection of the Department of Decorative Arts
displayed on the 1st floor of the Sully and Richelieu wings, and the magnificent Napoléon III Apartments.
Within the Louvre itself are both a restaurant and a self-service bistrot, which are both moderately priced.
And connected to the museum by a walkway lined with colorful and enticing shops is the underground
Carrousel du Louvre shopping mall, which has a food court. You may exit the museum galleries, have lunch (and rest your feet),
and then go back into the museum for more after you are refreshed.
We end our tour this evening with a Farewell Dinner.
